The badge is stamped. It has lines on it that resulting from a broken die.
There are several layers: outside the silvered copper layers and inside, between the copper, a kind of grey layer.

It is an interesting item for sure. I do not recall seeing anything similar.

Thanks Joe !

The name in 1939-1940 WESTBAU
Afterwards it was WESTWALL
At the end 1944 WESTBEFESTGUNG

These busses of the DEUTSCHE REICHSPOST are very large and had powerfull engines . The D.REICHSPOST assisted in transporting all the workers, thousands and thousands of people from all parts of the Reich to the Westwall; see pic from the movie.

The paper on the bus-window in the last picture says "Construction Compagny ..............( name, I can't read) Berlin."

Benten, great research.

Odd, I was just the day before looking at a 1938 WESTBAU tinnie that I have. It has what appears to be a soldier and a worker shaking hands upon a parapet. With SA over WOE in a triangle.

Joe,
Thanks for the complement. Could you post a picture of your 1938 WESTBAU tinnie ? I know only the bronze Westwall medals of the construction compagnies, with soldier and a worker shaking hands .

Thanks Joe, very interesting, this early WESTBAU-badge.
"SA over WOE in a triangle .... could be a construction compagny mark. They involved from juni till november 1938 , I suppose.

ps what happened also........ on 10 november 1938........there was the "Kristallnacht" that took place with the Jews all over Germany.
