Collectors

From time to time I wish to discuss things I think about or see!

I was thinking back many yrs ago when I went to OVMS at the Drawbridge military show!

I remember how much fun it was! Not just the stuff and items to be had!

But the people I met!

I remember 3 older guys from Canada I always saw and talked to!

I am sad to say its been to long to remember their names!

But a real friendly group who collected daggers!

Not just what do you have group of collectors!

I have met some real nice collectors over the yrs!

At this stage of my collecting yrs, I wondered if I just met some nice fun guys from Canada!

One fella was named John Wynn I believe! Big dagger man who traveled with a Scottsman who like to drink! He was a hoot!!!!!!!!

Ryan Sellick who is now with me at Collectors Corner, class guy I met many yrs ago!

Darryl P who sure knew SS helmets! GD's Bernie Brules who started the Key on SS daggers and had that GTX car!

Loggy! Had fine stuff and so many Teno badges! Tim was his name I think!

Lakeside Trader and his son! Became big in the dagger world!

Patrice! Mr. MINT!!!!!!!!! and his friend Stephone

John Z who is a huge collector and like Eickhorn stuff!

I bet there is more and I just don't remember the names!

We lost some to time ,death, and just moving on!

What I am trying to say is the hobby has been blessed with good people!

Maybe some will know them or others!

Lets hear from you!!!!!!!!

Maybe I just met the cream of them!

Thanks for being friendly!

It doesn't cost anything!

And many of us have noticed!

Hi I met John D.H. Winn back in 1994 He was known for owning Jodl's heer dagger. John was an old English collector dating back to the 1960s and was mentioned in many reference to include Tom Johnson's John passed away in the early 2000s Daryll Pajot is a friend and until COVID I saw him a few times a year at local shows in Toronto. We travelled to the SOS and Max together. Those were great days..Daryll no longer collects SS and his reknowned Allgemeine SS helmet collection has passed to others. He is retired and content. Patrice of course is still a member famous for his best of the best daggers. He can be found on facebook together with his lovely wife with amazing photos of their travel destinations to the most exotic locales. Wishing all of my Canadian friends a Happy Canada Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! cheers and best, Ryan
