Hey folks. What's the consensus on the cast DRGM clips? I know some period daggers hangers have the cast DRGM clips with DRGM being in a recessed rectangle. Most shown on forums have been said they are fakes. But are they all truly fake or post war assembled? I have the opportunity to buy one and it looks nice but I am uncertain after reading about them. I attached the clip type in question.

I think they are fake. The reason is that I have never seen one on a hanger I thought was made pre-1945. And, they are mostly on fake SS vertical hangers.

As you say, some other daggers use them and they are considered period.

Thanks! Any other pics of specific fakes and markings? Is there a thread already stared for that? A sticky would be helpful.

Yes sir. Saw that. Just was wondering about specific thread for fake hangers. Have to dig through other posts to find and I noticed there are quite a few fake ones presented.

Hay guys,
Just for the info, JR just put up a couple of SS vert hangers, one a private purchase, the other a period DRGM.

Curious Dave as to where you've seen these employed in period hangers? What I can tell you is that they were used on a series of post-war made vertical hangers.

Paul,

I must have got my words crossways. I've never seen one on what I thought was a period SS/SA/NSKK hanger. I've seen two on short hangers and more on vertical hangers. These were fake hangers that had incorrect leather, etc besides the clips.

Guy,

The pinned threads were about daggers. People have asked several times "is this real ?" over the years but you are right - nothing is pinned.
