Regarding the logo, it does look etched from the pics. To my untrained eyes, the parts look period but the real Navy guys will have more to say.
You've mentioned the maker being a previously unknown producer for Navy daggers, which is true but sometimes that isn't the whole story. I found an M29 Navy dagger by Richard Herder, also previously unknown for this model. It turned out to be legit so you never know.

here are some more pics - I can`t really show the guilding on the pommel under where the knot is and the portipee is so well set on the crossguard that I didn`t want to take it off There is a P and a 1 or I on the tang , dont know if this relates to a known maker ? I bought it though I knew it was not a recognised maker but the condition and uniform aging and the quality of the hilt and blade made me believe that it may be genuine , I m not sure about the scabbard though , the rings are very unusual Thank you for looking and share your opinion

Hi guys, in my opinion the grip has been replaced and the blade initially had no etching and logo, they were made later. I doln?t also like an eyelets. Best, Oleg.
