If you are like us, you probably used a spray can of Lysol every 2 to 3 weeks. Since March, I've scored 1 can at the local Walmart. The company that makes Lysol issued a statement last month that "due to a 185% increase in demand from medical and commercial organizations, Lysol will probably not be available to consumers until 2021". Some enterprising individual had a sample analysed and circulated the formula. To make 16 oz. of "disinfectant spray", mix the following - 12 oz 70% alcohol 3.5 oz distilled water .5 oz hydrogen peroxide 15-30 drops essential oil for fragrance Use in a hand pump sprayer. We've tried it and it works like a champ. Especially good on litter boxes and pet areas. Just though I would share

Also, a simple formula for hand sanitizer is 2 parts alcohol, 1 part aloe vera, and 5 to 10 drops of essential oil.

The spray and the wipes have been missing in most of NY since May! Even the generic and Cosco stuff isn't around.. Same with Fantastic, Mr.Clean even cleaning liquids such as Spic & Span are very hard to find...
3 months ago a member here from TN had told me their stores still have some spray but its going fast.. He went and grabbed a bunch [and was soon happy he did] and thankfully sent me 3 of the large cans of Lysol spray.. We are still on the first can and use it sparingly.
Yes those are good recipes and there are more out there.
There seems now in NY to be a good supply of the generic 'Purell' type of hand sanitizers everywhere..
[ Months back when we were losing 800 a day period and no supplies anywhere my 90 yr old neighbor was using the good Stoli Vodka with some mineral oil in it for hand sanitizer.]

Name brand hand wipes, alcohol and disinfectant spray still tough to find here in MI. Generic hand wipes are plentiful, home depot and walgreens often have them. Lysol and Chlorox hard to find, I saw a whole pallet of lysol wipes ready to be stocked close to closing time a couple weeks back, I grabbed 3 and called it good, no limit there. Saw a can of lysol at a flea marker, lady wanted $18 and I passed on that. Hand sanitizer and cheap masks plentiful, 3m masks and any respirator still hard to find. Not sure why there was a run on peroxide in the first place, it disappeared from shelves form a few months now its freely available.
TP shortage has been over for some time though many places still stupidly impose limits ,,, And the plexiglas shortage is over, at least in my area.

Doug Yes, it is hard to figure out the "WHY" in the shortage items. Here in S W Missouri, it has been all over the place. First the toilet paper ans disinfectant. Then food. One week beef, next week cheese, then soup, then pork. On and on. Still now, every trip to the store, they are out of some item or the other. They are on beer now. One brand one week, another brand the next week. It's gust a COVID excuse, One store owner told me there was a aluminum can shortage, you get nothing for scrap cans here. I think it's just that most stores are going along with the Covid thing, and just not ordering stuff. The beer thing is a big problem, they are playing with fire now. Think you have seen protest?? Take beer away. Hope it all ends soon, Stay safe, Ed
