Mike,, thats it! the 'White Tower'! One I'd like to add to my collection,,a swastika one too!

Benten,, rare? for ring collectors yes.,,any authentic ring is hard to find now days.. The mass produced type are the more expensive is the usual case..

The early dates 41 etc are or would be for the Axis troops stationed there [Italian & German]. Pretty sure by 44 sometimes Greece was liberated by the Allies so a 44 or 45 dated ring would be for them...Would be great to see your gold plate Athens 44 example.

Many believe that Hitlers failure to enter and take Moscow was because Mussolini's attack and failure to take Greece in 1940 caused Hitler to send his troops to Greece first to bail him out and set up occupation!.
By the time he was done in Greece and started on the USSR it was late in the season and winter came in hard and fast!

The ring has a very good design of the White Tower. I partly see it is the adress of an Italian jeweler/ hologer..Please, can you make a pic of the ring box.

Here is the ring : Athen 1944, with goldfront . The front-picture is quite quick engraved....
