When this was the 'Don Boyle Honor Ring forum',,,Don would occasionally write about the SS man Berthold Peichl. That somehow and for a brief time worked for 'Firma Gahr'.
Not sure what he did. Sometimes said he was a jeweler, some said a paper pusher.. And, it was years later that Craig Gottleib when he and Don were at odds with each other had started saying Peichl had never worked for Gahr at all!!. That something weird was going on between Peichl and Don..
Don claimed Peichl was involved with making the HR.. And,,that Peichl started selling 3rd reich era silver cast items postwar One of the items was a reproduction of the HR. There were other items,,,some we knew already,,some or really most fantasy.. I have bits of a old catalog I'll post for reference..
One of his HRs in his distinctive box has got to be worth something..
IF anyone has more info , photos, adverts please feel free to add them here.., Thanks , G.
* I think that Odal Runic brooch was an actual pattern during the 3rd reich era. :

At one time Don owned or still has one of the HRs...
The weird skull ring bottom left is sometimes called 'The Kaltenbrunner ring'. [maybe spelled in correctly] named after the SS/Police chief... Also the band on the right with the Tanks is sometimes called the 'LAH Panzer ring'.. Both fantasy pieces that have been around a long time..

- Evgeniy,,,wow haven't heard his name in a long time!.. Do you still have your Morton ring? Could you put up a photo or 2..
- Vern, did you buy yours as a 'Peichl' ring? Couple nice shots would help..
So a question is,,was Mark making his copies in 1985?
- John,,yes,,that kinda looks like the same. Question is when was it made.. Peichls was in 935 silver.. Is there maybe a small content stamp anywhere on it?.. Yours looks very well made.. .. I'll try and make a better photo from the ad....

John,, your piece looks really nice, good quality etc.
He's the Peichl ad.. not much to go on as we can't see the details..
What we do know is that he did make some items that were fantasy,,and some that were period...

Maybe, it was based on the badge for German settlers. Which is what mine is.

Hi, Evgeniy your ring is still good .
Hi John Z, That is a nice and rare badge you have . As far as I know it is made of Zinck , so it is not magnetic .
Hi Gaspare, Near the ad. picture of the brooch is mentioned text; Rememberance to the great time, duty year , brooch, also as necklace, silver! 935. Maybe a German equivalent ? Maybe this silver brooch is inspirated on the Dutch brooch . The word Pflichtsjahr; that means, obligated work for a year , among others at a farm , for Germany .
This badge , if made of zinck , is ww2 and Dutch; from the so called De Germaanse Landdienst , free translated The Germanic Land Service .
It was given from the NSB ( Dutch Sosialist Movement ) in 1942 /43 to Dutch NSB- boys and girls from 16 and older, for encouragement them to help the Germans in their homeland and occupied areas to devellop the Great Germanic Reich . There they worked on farms and other places were they were needed for about a year . The idea , later , grownup , to colonize so called East- land . There were about 600 participants .
See mine for comparisson .

E . , your MM ring is still in pretty good shape!. And Verns ring unless it came in a Peichl box we really can't be 100% is one of Peichls..
There were 2 members here that bought HRs directly from Peichl. They haven't been around in a few years.. But, anyone else that thinks they have a Peichl HR or other information , catalog pages, etc, to please post..
John,, Benten. . Peichls brooches were in 935 silver. Benten yours is in Zinc,,and if yours is also John its very good that it is not one of Peichls but a period piece..
