I posted this in the Community forum but know many just tune in here so I re posting:

Hopefully everyone knows a bit about what is happening around the globe with it We really do have a true international membership here and even though we might not all agree with each other all the time this is serious and don't want any of you guys or your families sick......
My wife works for a major hospital in NYC. I've been volunteering the last 10 days there helping with cleaning...

All hands on deck!

Please guys,,,,,IF anyone tells you its just like a bad case of the flu,,,,or you have to be a senior citizen, or have a compromised immune system,,,they are full of sh*t period!
You catch a good case of it and its a pretty good chance you might not make it!

- From keeping my ears open some tips I've heard:

Stay away from anyone that is sick.. Even if they say they just had a cold and its just about gone...
Be careful what you are touching. IF you are in a train station, in a store etc. and had to touch a counter a railing do not touch your face . Find a way to wash your hands.
Wash your hands well first then your face a few times a day.
Keep hand shaking to a absolute minimum if at all!
You can catch it from a animal IF the owner tests positive and plays with it a lot.
Keep all surfaces in your house clean, all your door handles even your car door handles.
Be careful with your money. It can transfer the virus..
I've heard a couple Drs saying 'thank God the Summer is coming'... [Apparently it does not live well in the heat]..
Even though I've heard masks do not help...IF things get real bad masks and rubber gloves will help,,,,and for Gods sake , keep your hands away from your face!

Hopefully we'll get a handle on it and by next flu season we'll have it included with our flu shot vaccines.....,G.

Gaspare, my young daughter together with her grandma plans to go to Washington D.C. in two weeks. Thy plan it for almost half an year.

Now I am in doubt whether I will let her go. What is the situation in U.S. now? What is the outlook?

I believe that it is way under reported in the US and Canada. The very slow roll out of tests and the almost pathological lack of reporting is leading many to think that it is not really out there and not dangerous.

I would be very careful in where I traveled (and how). Washington DC is probably safer than most places since the old men who govern there would take care of themselves first.

Just my take on a very potentially dangerous situation.

Many thanks John, even she will be sad, we will have most probably to cancel it. I am also afraid a bit of U.S. health care in particular of ridiculous prices ... .

Many thanks again.

they say air travel is safe. That the air is changed every 2.5 min. Anything related to the virus as far as healthcare has been frozen [no co pays etc.] and disinfectant products also retailers have been warned about inflated prices.

D.C. is a GREAT place to visit! Very much to see... Problem is that maybe in 2 weeks the museums will be closed temporarily until things get better..

Well, it's going to take a LONG time for things to get better in D.C.
I would wait till the virus thing is well over to go.
All the other problems in D.C. will take decades to fix.
Be safe,
Ed

Wow, sorry for the double post.
Have you seen the article on the lawyer from NY? He tested positive, and within days spread it to dozens of people, they traced them all to him.
Best to stay home.

Ed, that lawyer from Westchester that basically infected 1000 or more,,he passed away yesterday..

So, this is/has spread worldwide. It's thing besides killing you is that it is VERY contagious. Even a day later on some surfaces it will be there and you can be infected.
NYC hospitals have been in trouble.. Supposedly in the next day or 2 we'll have masks, gowns, gloves. Ventilators and supplies are coming from US factories that are retooling to produce them,,,just like done in WWII!.

Italy suffering terribly. IF its you pray for them,,it helps.. To our members there stay in, clean everything [even mail] don't touch face,,take care friends..
The rest of you,,no one is immune to this. IF its not close to you ,,it will be.. ,,,,,My personal motto - Cleanliness is next to Godliness.. Be careful friends and as always ,,happy hunting!...,G.

Gaspare, my friend, please how is it going in New York? How are you? Are you OK?

Reading some articles I am afraid, that Lombardy's name in America is New York. Last news I read was, that president Trump considers to quarantine it .... .

,, my wife works at a big hospital in NYC.. Things tough there. Not enough vents, masks, gowns..

Her crew repairs medical equipment.. So they have 100s of vents coming in now and they all must be checked out 1st before use. So far this past week she has had 3 out of 40 technicians test positive and now can not work. She will lose more next week...

We have split the house in half,..,hers and mine. . I must try and stay healthy so that IF she gets it I can take care of her...
Prayers help my friend.. Be careful,,wash wash wash., thanks , G.

G:

My prayers go out for you and your family.

This whole coronavirus thing is so surreal. You get to see the best in people, and the worst in a hopefully few cases. You are one of the good guys and deserve better.

John

My wifes crew now has 13 testing positive.... The Vents started appearing over the weekend.. EACH one must be inspected and checked for operation. Many were missing parts.. A refrigerated tractor trailer was brought in for those who didn't make it.

The police have handed over a few 1000 confiscated masks.. I was helping sort them out. The bastards took regular cheapie dust masks and stamped N-95 on them! [The 95 means they filter out by 95%] ....

It is VERY contagious guys. Think only 3 states as of today have no cases. It will get around. It kills the young and old rich and poor. No discrimination with this bitch.. Has at least a 2 week incubation period so you really don't know whos been exposed and passing it around..

No matter what they tell you,, *wear a mask anywhere where there are people. Wash your cash, CC, your mail, the boxes delivered to your house. Of course door knobs in house ,,light switches, kitchen cabinet knobs, sink handles, fruits and veggies , steering wheel/shift knob , hands and NO face touching..

Big thanks to the President for the Navy hospital ship,,to GE,,Honeywell,,3M, FIT, , and all the privateers retooling ,,making masks, and Vents, face shields,, gowns.. We still have all sorts of shortages here. Most wearing the same mask for 3 days. Today the director told my wife shes better off with a bandanna,,covers more/better and you can hand wash it at night.

Here in NY state its pretty bad.. The last week,, and the next month someone will die every 7 minuets.........

Hi Gaspare

This will be extremely tough. I would be afraid of even double death racio than the one you mention. Second is that since the health systems are overloaded with the virus, they are unable to handle common diseases and illnesses. E.g. according to mayor of Bergamo from 1.3. to 24.3. died in Bergamo 446 people, average for the same period is 98 people, but only 136 are connected with virus. What about remaining 212 ... .

To take it easy a bit, money washing is no problem, if you need money laundering, I assume, you will find a lot of service providers.

Take care

The key thing to remember to stay healthy with Covid-19 is WASH YOUR HANDS.

Wash them for 20 seconds completely, I.e. palms, back of hands, thumbs, between figures, tips, etc, for roughly 2 rounds of ?Happy Birthday? being used as a good measuring stick.

Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces, but don?t go overboard with cleaning mail...they estimate the virus can only live up to 24 hours if present on cardboard, so I?d imagine with most pieces of mail that holds true as well.

Do not touch your face, eyes, nose, etc. I have seen several people doing this while out in a grocery store and I just want to shout ?WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!??

I live in WA State, and while they are seeing signs that the measures that started on 3/16 with closing bars and restaurants might be helping flatten the curve, we still have a long ways to go...and that doesn?t even take into account the rest of the country. :(

Well we are on a downward trend for new cases and deaths.. We were having 800 die a day. Now the last few days its down to 300 a day. still a lot for the one state ..
NYS is still on lockdown for another 2 weeks or so. Essential work only. Everyone must wear a mask if going in to a grocery store. Outside also unless you can be at least 2 meters away from someone..

We have some states with less than 1000 deaths and and they on trial re opening..

Big problem now is NYS and many other states are VERY low on Blood.. It is safe to donate and everything at the Red Cross center is constantly being disinfected and all workers properly attired with personal protective grear. You should have your own mask but they will give you one if you don't..

- David,,my son in Seattle. He says the same,, most of the state pretty good but Seattle still hot and under lockdown..

- Jan,,what is happening in Prag /CZ Rep.?

Finally, it looks really good at the moment. Still the damage done is awful and number of deaths terrible, but it is on good decreasing trajectory!

In Prague at the moment it seems to be nearly over, only few tens new cases a day and few death a day, total cases about 7.600 /deaths 235. The country is now slowly re-opening, unfortunately schools seems to be closed until May, 25 which is a problem for all parents ... . People are a bit stressed and afraid, that it will comeback. Also I am a bit afraid what will come next since they are trying to introduce something called clever quarantine which is more or less big brother snoop system. And from my experience when state authorities begin to monitor citizens in some ways, there is no power to cancel it ... .

I understand that following is not subject of this board, but I do not have other friends from US than you. So I would like to kindly ask whether anyone can comment further. I just do not understand the standpoint of Council of Minneapolis who decided to dismantle police. Who will be keeping at least order (even law) in the city? Gangs? Self defence (militia)?

I'm sure this discussion will get cut off.
You are 100% correct. What the ???? are they thinking?
The only true answer is that bleeding heart liberals have taken over America.
Sad, but true.
Texas even took a monument to the Texas Rangers down this week.
Hope all is well where you are.
Stay safe
