Just got this the other day. Looks to never had decals applied? The back is stamped Q6 and what looks like another 6 but is very faint. Had to look at it through a magnifying glass. Under that it is stamped S1448. I would like some opinions on this lid. SSman 1.

it looks like a guenuine combat helmet ,untouched it appears. rather refreshing to see its not been had decals applied post war.

Nice late war Quist made helmet. They made the model 40 style well into 1944. The only manufacturer that I am aware of that produced the 40 style that long. You can always spot a Quist they have the larger doughnut looking air vents. They usually have the big foot decal on the pre 44 made helmets. On the rare ocassion you will find them with the regular style eagle. ( The big foot decal has the middel claw below the line of the top edge of the swastika rather than on top.)
