Hi! please give an opinion on this one: a naval 1st model mini (with advertising for a construction company still in business!) I'm interested in which period it belongs, from what I saw from other similar pieces it may belong to a period between 1930 and 1945
Any opinion welcome

Nacho,
Looks ok to me. The cross guard is typical. The blade...for me, hard to judge. I have seen lots of variation. What is going on with the grip? What is causing the color change? Photo exposure or something else?

Stratocaster,
don't know what happened to the grip, I also noticed the colour difference, a tied portpee maybe? The photos are not very good so I will take others when I receive it. Do you think is an uncommon model? I've seen lots of second model minis and also lots of Imperial model minis but no 1st model like this one, also the blade looks a litlle bend and the crossguard seems to be down mounted

Nacho,
That makes sense regarding the grip. I just don't recall ever seeing a color change like this. Really interesting. The braided metal portepee was only tied around the grip where it meets the cross guard so that make sense. I wouldn't say this is necessarily a rare model. I have seen "1st Model" minis before. Admittedly though for every 10 of the others I will encounter one of these. That has been my experience but there are other collectors that specialize in minis that I am sure have a better view of this segment of collecting. Thanks for sharing with us.

Some new photos, definitively the blade is bend, I had tried to unscrew the pommel but it don't move and I'm afraid to force it, also the grip seems to be broken and fixed with some kind of glue, fortunately the blade is in good condition except for a little rust. In general is in good shape and I like it, I will try later ti unscrew the pommel to see whats happen with the blade, regards
