Does it appear to be more of a tinnie or a table medal? What is its size and weight approximately?

Large areas of the Rhineland including major cities were occupied by Allied forces after WWI as part of the terms of the Versailles Treaty. The German citizens of these areas celebrated the evacuation of these occupation forces when parameters of the treaty had been satisfied and often tinnies and commemorative coins were issued to celebrate. Cologne was vacated by British troops in early 1926; the Rhineland was vacated in 1930.I can see much value except as a curiosity, unless one would collect items of this occupation period. Perhaps $25 or so.

Thanks.

Most people, like myself, think of the Rhineland as being occupied until Hitler's military re-occupation of 1936.

Here's something related to this time in the Rheinland, a lovely patriotic plaque showing how the shackles have finally come off.

Victor Hugo would have been proud- looks like Valjean?s shackles, Gavroche?s hair, and the students flag of the rebellion vs javert after the death of lamarque. Totally German to clap back like that too- masters of dark sarcasm, and biting retorts. Vive la France oops we meant Die Vaterland lol.
