Hi guys,
Given the recent doom and gloom here about the future, if any, of our hobby of collecting Third Reich rings, I thought I would post this little beauty. Maybe cheer you up...
The DHV (Deutschnationaler Handlungsgehilfenverband, or National Association of Commercial Employees) was the white collar workers union in pre-Nazi Germany. The DHV leadership did not fully support the NSDAP because it didn't recognise the independence of unions. According to what Odal told me a while back, there are two variants of this ring, one with and one without a swastika. He had one of the latter and is the only other DLV I have seen. As far as I can gather, the DHV existed from 1893 - 1933. The ring shown here probably dates from the late 1920s.
Hope you enjoy.
Cheers,
Stephen

hi stephen not many of these rings around as you say this orgination has been around since 1893-1933 well adolf hitler came to power january 1933 so maybe this ring was an early date 1933 not 1920s because it shows the swazsticka this brings it to 1933 correct i see that it might be a silver content makers mark there yes the outside wreath has been buffed tover the years but still a nice ring to see the enamel work is very nice still 86yrs old thanks for takeing the time to show it to us guys stephan god bless andy militarynut

Thanks Andy. You are correct. I got confused with a ring that Odal had. No swastika and he believed that his DHV ring was late 20s, i.e., pre-Hitler. Cheers, Stephen

- Rare ring! Yes 1st pattern [no Swas.] late 20s and also worn well in to the war.. I've held 2,,photographed one,,,[think they might be my old photos][?]
anyway,,
As with just about every pattern these have been copied! Not aware of the early pattern copied though..
So both patterns viable for your 3rd reich collection as there were not many made with the Swas...
Go get 'em guys!....,regards, G.

Hey Gaspare,
I may have misunderstood your meaning but the photos posted above were taken by me. I have had that DHV ring for years now and I took those photos.
Cheers,
Stephen
