Hello everybody! Please help to understand is it something wrong with the grip of SA dagger.because I think that somebody work with that grip to put on not original cross guards.
Please tell me am I wrong or no?Or it may be paths like this on original dagger with all native parts from maker which produced this dagger.
Thanks for help!

That looks OK.

Remember that the cross guards were made of metal and that the inside measurements were sometimes slightly different. The dagger blades were forged and the tangs also varied slightly. The grips were wood and a little work with a file was often necessary to make all pieces fit correctly together.

I also agree with Dave ...the grip is as expected of an early construction and milling
