Ken17, you do show is daggers in remarkable good condition. This is important especially for the more common daggers like armies or 2nd lufts or SAdaggers. Is the scabbard of the SAproper anodized? I cannot distinguish from the pic if it is anodized or lacquered. Concerning the 1st luft I a, somehow hesitant as it is, what I can see from the pics, an early nickle silver fitted dagger in a late scabbard with aluminium fittings. If I am right this is a very unusual if not to say impossible combination for an original piece. Regards,

The SA has the anodized finish. About the Luftwaffe 2nd pattern, how can i check if the scabbard fittings are aluminium?

The SA has the anodized finish. About the Luftwaffe 2nd pattern, how can i check if the scabbard fittings are aluminium? So your SAdagger seems to be perfect, when the blade is like the outside of the dagger. Yes, the hint of seany is good, but be careful. The scabbards have a iron core beneath fittings and leather and trying the magnet in the middle of a fitting may show a wrong result (from the iron core). Try it on the eyelets but especially concerning these I am pretty sure that the scabbard has aluminium fittings as nickle silver fittings do have other formed eyelets. Regards,

I checked the LW stickert today, as you pointed out its as you stated aluminium in scabbard fittings, however both the crossguard and pommel is also non magnetic so the dagger match up as a late war production.
Thanks for the help guys.
