I believe this ring (or one like it) was discussed at some point but I do not recall the verdict. Have you checked the archived threads? Interesting thing in any case.

But my expireins told me, that in WW2 period , I never saw ring with so big-massive band There more thin , then it ... How about this ? Nice ring. I like it. As I understand, thin bands on silver rings were due largely to shortages of silver in wartime Germany. I suppose wear would contribute too. I have seen a lot of thicker-banded rings but theose are often made of cheaper metal than silver... but some are silver too. I have never seen this design before and I wonder if it was made for (or by) an individual rather than being made in large numbers. Presumably you could make a private purchase silver ring as big and chunky as you wanted if you could afford the silver. If this is a fake or maybe made after the war, I ask myself why anyone would go to the trouble and expense of making a one-off ring. I generally ask the same question when folks post a unique ring and others immediately scream Fake! (Of course, just because I havent seen this pattern before does not make it unique! ;o) There are more expert ring collectors than me here.) Incidentally, when I click on the images, I get taken to a web page of Russian ads instead of the ring photo. That may not be permitted here. Anyway, thats my five cents worth. Cheers!

it is a pattern that has been around a long time.. Evgeniy,, I have only see it in a much smaller version. Small, thin band, even the cartouche a bit smaller..
Some like the ring.. This is supposed to be a campaign / field made ring. All hand carved etc, but this one looks machine done, perfect in every way..
My reason for not liking it is,,,it is too perfect,, I don't think they would put the Swastika behind 3 Russian/Slavic Church onion shaped spires.. Some would say 'oh but its rising above them',,no, this main focus seems to be on the Domes [ with crosses ].. The size of the ring does not agree with me either.. something not right there....

I am sure that this is a post-war ring. Here is another one.

I recall our prior thread and I must also agree with Evgeniy and Sniper, it is interesting looking but ultimately not an authentic piece.

you know,,there is good engraving and great engraving,,,but that looks machine made.. No good.....
Now there are other old examples. Different bands, thinner bands,,I've seen dug examples.etc. the ring doesn't make sense no matter how you shake it!

Hey guys! On this ring the band size doesn't bother me, and I agree with spitfire's reasoning on that. I have a lotta lotta legitimate trench art rings, and some engraving is way better than others. But as Gaspare said, this one is too perfect for my liking. For sure machine made, possibly post war, but not many Eastern Front vets rocking a swastika during allied occupation. I think it is a 50s or 60s fantasy ring. I've seen the pattern before on Ebay, just without the swag. That's my two cents.
