Well guys.. A slow year for rings... Honor rings,, Andy had 3 nice ones I believe. No photos because he always has a crowd at his table.. Maybe 3 other authentic HRs there! There were 2 HRs that they were asking a fortune for,,but honestly,,, I didn't like them.. I heard some 'tall' stories about them. Now I say all the time,,I'm not into HRs.. But these 2 rings looks bad to me. I had a couple others see them,,and they said the same,,something wrong with them.. And, these were HRs $10,000!

Private Purchase was also dismal.. Maybe 6 authentic PP rings... Many US rings and not problems with originality. Saw rings from DAKs collection and I thank him for showing me/us!

German rings were just not there. Only a few as I mentioned.. For years I've been telling people,,there are only a finite amount of these things.. Not many real German rings survived.. When they are gone they are gone.. So you see something authentic,,grab it!

I really liked this Italian made ring! Problem was,,it wasn't for sale.. frown

. Photos of the show got moved to the Community Forum. Some good stuff,, have a look !

Not a bad show really.. Just one of the worst years for Rings of any type.. Most prevalent,,was US campaign / field made rings,,,and they were selling!..
Oh well, lets see what next years brings,,or the SOS [which I no longer go to] .... still a site to see if you never have been. A museum you can buy at!!

So, there were very few HRs and PP rings at the show.. They are very hard to find.. You've got to look through row after row, table after table,,you got to look in the corners of a case, they are small and hard to find. Some partially covered by something else.. Even worse was CuffLinks! I don't think I saw one pair of German cufflinks at all!

When you really think about it we should be very glad for what we have. These rings were small, valuable, easy to carry around,,easy to hide.. And directly after the war a tiny bit of silver like a ring could feed you for a days meal! I find it amazing that these what we have survived! I'm grateful for what I have and do my best to take care of them...

OK guys,,until next year ,,,hope you enjoyed the photos.. Anyone else with photos please feel free to add them on here or on the Community Forum..

Here's 2 old friends,,I promised to post their photo,,here you go guys!!!

Don't know Dave.. They saw me with the camera,,I asked if I could take a shot of his table,,,and he yes but to take a shot of his old friend ,,that they don't get to see much of each other anymore.. told them it would be on GDC, do they know what that is,,,the guy on left seemed to know and was explaining to the other guy when I was walking away..

Seemed to hear a lot of that this year.. Guys saying 'yeah we only get together at the MAX and SOS,,we know each other 30 years, etc. etc. - Same with me. I only see Vinny at the MAX, and Mike K. from here , Andy too some years only at the show sometimes too, auctioneer Bill, etc,, ,and a few others..
We get out at nite,,talk about the past year,if we got anything for our collections,,,have many drinks,, curse,, oogle the pretty girls, , all the stuff we can't do at home wink grin

Overall, it was a pretty good show. No worse or better than the last couple years. Hopefully it will start to pick up..., G.

Here?s a couple more. Bill combs always lets me take a photo or two of his Philippines uprising and spam am items, not big movers but I think really cool. And some guns that were next to us, could not load the rifles pic but they were nice. Wish the guy from Hungary would let us post his Feldlazarette ss pz div wiking banner - i would love to know if it was real -but he gave G the third degree about his pictures so that?s that. Still overall the best of the shows imho. I enjoyed it much more than the sos, but to each their own.

hi mike
i believe the reason the european dealer wouldnt let gaspare take a picture of his panzer flag is if some one gets this picture to the right party overseas it could be trouble for him and he cant take that chance also most people including myself dont want any more pictures of our booths or me n family i didnt mind years ago but in the last few years its going toward being politicaly correct we used to be more openly selling and collecting this history but times has changed the free for all is over i could tell you incidents that hapned to me at gun shows military shows over the years not a nice thing but i still stick to my american born rights and i will never change i love my country and i will defend my rights till the cows come home some people they just dont get it snapping a picture of any one that was just told no pictures and he finds out wont be a nice day for some one who doesnt respect outher peoples rights no is no hope i explained it loud n clear this is my honest opinion on what is takeing place at our military n gun shows here in america god bless andy militarynut

One last thing I forgot to report on... what the heck was up with all the fake Super Bowl rings?? I was waiting in line on Friday and there was a guy wearing a placard hawking them up and down the line flashing 10 rings on his fingers waving them around like Im in some weird bazaar, reminded me of stuff I saw wandering around Istanbul in the 90s - weird stuff!!

yeah don't get the Super Bowl ring thing,,,and I saw like 3 dealers with them!!

Everyone emails me ..how big can the show really be!! OK, this photo is of the main room.. It is only about a 1/3 of the one room. Plenty left just in this room alone..

There are 2 other rooms packet with tables/dealers...

Finding a ring in a corner of a dealers case is like finding a needle in a haystack.. Tough. You really got to look. It's very hard.. But you do the best you can do and hopefully you'll find something.. OK guys,,,until next year!!!!!!!!!
