No one is commenting? Anyway, I do not like the Eickhorn logo.
But for me the dead giveaway that there is something wrong... is the perfectly laser-etched " I " gruppe mark on the reverse lower cross guard...
Just my two cents.

The clip and buckle on the hanger look strange. Not what are usually seen on these. I see nothing wrong with the dagger, except possibly the grip has been refinished. I'm with Dave, an in-hand exam is needed. If you can make or get more and better photos, please post then, Maybe that will help.

The clip and buckle are probably OK. That hanger looks like a pre-RZM style where they used clips from WWI and buckles from anywhere.

Looks good to me. If they are making the repros this good, then it is time to throw in the towel.

It is real, but has been worked on.

The blade has been cleaned aggressively.

The grip seems to have been refinished and that is why it looks good but there is a residue around the eagle. The scabbard I don't know.

Many thanks for the replies! Is the blade itself ... good or bad?

The hilt to tip 'sideways' scratches and the lack of darkening in the letters underscore the 'cleaning' of the blade.
The lack of sharpness of the contour lines on the handle indicate 'work' as well.
I think the item is genuine but has been heavily 'restored'.

Potos of the scabbard would be helpful, especially the finish without the hanger and the screw heads.ame off

Kinda' like a classic car that has had a 'frame off' restoration.

I don't think this grip belongs on an Eickhorn either, looks more like a Boker grip. At best a parts piece IMO
