I have had this for a while and thought I would show for opinions. Pretty sure it is good as I got it from a German vet.
Need your opinions. There is one thing that concerns me. That being the eagle when it is tightly screwed on does not line up 100% with
the rest of the dagger. Would that be a replacement issue or is that pretty much a wear over time thing.
Your opinions are appreciated. Excuse the pictures. Best I can do with what I have at hand.
Regards
Detlef

Looks like a good one. The eagle could have been added to an older model. The grip has probably shrunk a bit which causes the eagle to not line up.

Hi Vern,
I don?t think that the eagle has been replaced. The dagger is a pattern 1938, not a pattern 1929. Such an eagle is OK. All parts are by WKC.
With a grip I?m not sure as well. The portepee seems to be an army one.
Best,
Oleg.

The silver portapee was authorized for administrative officers and could be original. It is a nice WKC wink

Vern,
for administrative officers were authorized silver belt buckles and a silver lion head buckles of the hangers.
The portepee was silver for all navy members which were eligible to wear portepee.
Best,
Oleg.
