Hello again all, once more as I ponder I lost the last two I have chased on the SA now today I find a Puma. Seems not as nice as my other finds and the finish not the greatest. From all I check I don't see one with the Puma logo on it so looking to you gents to see if authentic or not. Please let me know if this is collectible one or has any unique qualities that a collector such as yourselves looks for also I know nothing about Puma knives although I have heard the name. Any thoughts are appreciated as always and please say what you wish, I removed the price as I don't wish to offend anyone talking about price if that's not a good practice, thanks in advance.

Puma daggers are considered somewhat desirable by collectors. This one is a transitional which is fairly scarce, I have several & love them. But that said, the blade isn't in good condition at all. Unless the price is a steal, I would suggest you wait for a better conditioned example.

Can I be so rude to ask what a steal might be or is discussion of costing frowned upon ? I hate to be a low baller or start discussion with someone off on the wrong foot . I will say the asking price and please anyone tell me if price discussion is in poor taste. He is asking what would be approx $630 US but, in this country I have seen much much nicer examples in that range although not Puma but just yesterday the F.Dick I could buy easily at that price and it was very nice shape. Correct me but, does it look to be refinished and repainted ?

No, talking price is OK
As noted about your RZM piece, go for a early maker marked SA dagger and buy the best conditioned one you can afford

Based on the condition, I wouldn't pay $630 for that dagger. I do like transitionals but the condition skews it for me.

I just offered what would be $275 US and left it at that, I am going with Dave's advice on seeking early pieces in as mint as I can find or afford. Did find two WW1 Luftwaffe dagger and sword pair both mint but, no pics that are mine so I cannot share and pricey at the moment. I will continue to search for a SA or a SS dagger as I'm out there. Once again thank you all for your time to help me.
