Why do folks like the low numbers on militaria? I like the high numbers since it means the end of that production run under that alphabet character :-)

I don't mind what the numbers are as long as they match the scabbard.
My lowest - 0162t on 43/44 asw.

You are right... matching numbers and condition are what counts.
That being said, I think that a number 0001, especially if at the start of the year, would attract quite the atention, wouldn't it?

A good friend once owned a K98-k rifle - BSW 1939, serial number 1. It certainly attracted attention. Not a blade, but a very rare piece, regardless.
