Looks like an original mid-period 1st model chained Luftwaffe dagger to me. Congrats. This forum is a great place to learn, also the descriptions/pictures from a site that sells original daggers, like : http://www.wwiidaggers.com/LD1.htm

Good piece lots of plating loss to base metal not good on first pattern Luftwaffe but authentic cheers Ryan

Very true Ryan, a lot of plating loss. DevilsMetal, to me part of the desirability of a 1st model Luft are the shiny brass swastikas. It all depends how deep your wallet is.... You can always try to find a better conditioned example later. So it is what it is; an original mid-period 1st model Luft. Congrats!
