I observe no sign of a raised lip area around the hinge. Are there any signs of cast in hinge and catch removal so the soldered on hardware could be used?

Note the extended line past the last hash mark on the Freidrich Orth maker mark? Is that an accepted variation?

J.B. Military Antiques has the same badge and pictures match both the hinge without lip and maker mark.
