Guess there is not much to be done with a huge concrete Swastika. Construction workers in Germany have unearthed a giant concrete swastika on a sports field in the northern city of Hamburg. The German news agency dpa reported Tuesday workers were digging in the ground with an excavator to build changing rooms when they suddenly hit the four-by-four meter (13-by-13 foot) Nazi symbol. Members of the sports club at the Hein-Kling stadium in the city's Billstedt district told dpa the swastika served as a foundation for a monument that was torn down decades ago. City officials say they want the swastika, which was buried 40 centimeters (1.3 feet) below the ground, gone as quickly as possible. Because it's too heavy to be transported away, they are planning to destroy it with jackhammers. https://www.yahoo.com/news/giant-swastika-unearthed-germany-104426127.html

Why would they keep it, it's just a foundation, it obviously needs to be removed so they can build on the same spot, in that period in Germany it was OK, now it's not, dig it up and move on.

Yes, let's move on. It's just the historical past, get rid of it. Move on, when is the I phone 15 going to be out? Ed

No chance of it being preserved. If they tried, the usual suspects would complain about it becoming a shrine ect.
As mentioned, its only a chunk of decaying concrete from another era, probably best to just bust it up and scrap it as planned. Would be nice though to see some period pics of it, along with the monument it was alleged to have supported.
I'd sure like to do some metal detecting in that vicinity, no telling what lurks beneath the grass.

I would also love to see what building was on top of that.
