Looked some years to find one in still good condition. Now i got it. Silver, 2 piece, with most of the enamel. Would like to hear your opinions.

Outstanding piece, and insanely rare I think. A wonderful piece for any collection! Beautiful enameling.

This is one of my favourites and, I think, a beauty. Kirkenes, a town in the far northeast of Norway, was occupied by the Germans in 1940. Until liberation in 1944, there was a Kriegsmarine and a Luftwaffe fighter squadron base there.
The ‘AF’ mark on the rear of the ring cartouche denotes Anton Frisch, an Oslo jewellery firm. The silver content stamp is 830S. This ring was made by Anton Frisch’s son, Ragnar (1895-1973). After finishing an apprenticeship in the family jewellery business, Ragnar went on to obtain a doctorate in economics, mathematics and statistics. In 1969, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economic Science. Smart fella!
The Kirkenes ring posted here a few years ago by Götz is the only other one I have seen, apart from this one. It came in the box shown. It is an old ring box but I don't know if it's the original box for this ring. Does anyone else have one of these rings?

Around the time Odal got the ring there were die pieces [tooling] so he went after the ring and I went after the tooling.... Well,,as seen he did get the ring,,but I missed the tooling..... We found out there is also a variant and a smaller scale ring ..
- * Great information Stephen!!

Hi Stephen, together with the mark of Anton Frisch and the exellent design on the front, this is a very nice and interesting ring.

- * Great information Stephen!! Thanks Gaspare. I recall seeing a photo of a die for this ring several years ago on another forum. Believe it or not, it might even have been a copy that was posted by Odal. However, someone else had photos of dies for both variants of the Kirkenes ring. I'll have to look around and see if I can find it.
