Howdy all - i have been keeping an eye on a couple of German auction sites and there are new breed of fake etches out there to beware of. Real good from afar but far from good. Of course i could be jumping at shadows but i submit for review a Carl Julius Krebs etch that popped up recently.

Looks not bad but when you compare it to the genuine etch - this one from Lakeside (thanks Paul :-))its look well off the mark. Again though at a distance i reckon this would fool people

Agreed... not a bad fake at all, but still not good enough.
It will fool some people though.
Always looking for Eickhorns and etched bayonets.
