The orange gripped French daggers without the port epee loop were specific to one of the French units in one of their colonies. I forget which one. Good research for someone. But it is on Ebay and will probably not sell for much. It is not mine. I can not see for sure if the loop is on the dagger, but I suspect it is not, which is appropriate.
