My favorite Eickhorn! Most are aluminum but yours is brass which maybe what looks odd to you but everything is good including the D.R.P. stamp. I love it!

You will often see “Ges Gesch” or “D.R.P.” (Deutsch Reich Patent) markings on the bottom of Eickhorn Field Marshall series swords hilts. All it means is that Eickhorn has a patent or has applied for one on the sword design. As it is with a lot of German abbreviations the “D.R.P.” stamp can be confusing. It is not common but you occasionally see a bayonet stamped “DRP” which stands for Deutsches Reichs Postschutz the German Postal Protection Service

It looks like a good early (brass hilted) example to me. Best Regards, Fred
