WW2 Period framed miniature hand painted portrait of Adolf Hitler. The frame measures 5 x 5 ½ inches. The frame is either Ivory or Bone with a tortoise shell or faux tortoise shell inlaid border. The portrait is surrounded by a detailed brass bezel with a domed glass. The portrait is beautifully done and is signed by the artist on the lower right side. The likeness is based on a famous painting by Exner and is the same likeness used on the famous Rosenthal porcelain tile portraits. The piece is in beautiful condition throughout the white spots are an anomaly due to the photographic process the portrait is perfect with no paint loss. The original period triangle hanger remains. These are very rare and have only seen a few of these ever offered for sale.
