Can anyone tell me what this flag represents /

9.5 inches tall, 10.5 inches wide. Well made, double sided. No stampings or other ID.

The swazs is unusual in that it is surrounded by a square. I am not sure that it is German. The symbols with the arrowhead is something I have not seen before.

Thanks for any help,

Dave

Looks at first like a harbor pilots flag (sort of, ) but with something like radar or signals insignia. Navy (KM) signals?

While im not trying to steer the boat away the navy flag idea..... the hindu culture uses alot of bow and arrow iconography and the swaz used by the Hindu is a non mobile type. no i have not looked but when i get some time today I will. Bret Van Sant

Ryan,

I've looked through all the Finnish images I can find and nothing even close.

Any other thoughts?

No glow, Gaspare.

The 45th division did occur to me as well as Ukraine or non German Nazis.

I'm stumped

Still looks to be naval if not maritime- some sort of signal flag. Maybe it goes with a standard like it's a unit insignia for something? Or maybe it has some non military connection we aren't thinking of? I mean Germans even put the swas on vacation destinations through the kdf. Could be anything!

forget Ukraine, no way...

I remember my great uncle telling me the early /WW1 US 45th emblem was a static swas! So maybe mix in with Mikes some sort of signals or something... Got that old chain stitch going on,,just doean't look German to me but until you find something keep all aves open..
Get some google searches going!!

in my opinion the identification on what this flag represents is probly in the red cloth bar that goes across the arrow i would bet if you showed this picture on wehrmach under flags they would give you an answer in one hour of posting right now we are only guessing but i still feel mike will have given the best opinion lets see who the best opinion it was thanks have a great night andy militarynut

I am noticing, however, that the "arrow" is in fact pointing directly at the swastika. Maybe nothing, maybe something?

The fact that the Swaz is not mobile leads me to believe that it is not TR associated ,,, Though there are uncommon instances of period objects using the non mobile style.

well first and foremost is is a black swas that says something I agree the Finns mostly used blue so we have black swas red and and white Is it mere coincidence that these are definitively 3rd Reich colors. cheers, Ryan

Why would the banner that Dave posted not have "ARGUS" on it if it was related to this engine manufacturer. Certainly they seem similar in shape but can we say with any certainty that this is one of the same.
