Is this original? It's similar to one Mike sold me but slightly different.

From this pics nice looking one.
Nickel plating is missing.

It was the "dragons teeth" pattern. But I'm sure it's out there. You must be careful and know what you are buying before you buy any ring now anymore, I'm afraid. Good luck guys.

I had this one in mint condition silver plated for $200 and nobody wanted it (now it is sold) and this one is $200 and such a big interest. That is wired in selling militaria ?!?!?!

Not that weird... $200 for this is too much, but the one he's referring to that I sold was shipping included and mint except for 45% silver wash left (which is quite a lot, and indicates possibly worn by soldier- but not worn out!) ... oh - and also was like $150. Yours was stacked side by side 25 other westwall rings, some good, some rough, but to a buyer they want the rarest or one that's uncommon first. This isn't. In addition, all you had was 4 basic pics- and the reverse (that's the important shot) wasn't one of them. And to people buying here- they see your requirements as also adding shipping from an Eastern European country, when it will come, will it get lost, and you wanted it paid as friend as well. As I said, not too weird. Plus, you wanna hear weird? How about selling a fighting knife for $20- no one wanted it. Two mint armbands, one a deutscher volksstrum- best offer I got was "how about $90 shipped for both!" You don't have to tell me militaria is weird, man. I've found people only seem to want it if u give it away- then you're just labeled a grade A sucker, they won't ever remember you when you want something they're selling- like a quid pro quo then it's "oh no- full price for you." Isn't that right? Yeah, it's all kinds of fun here. Maybe Cecil will make his hundred bucks, maybe he won't. If he does great. If you did too, also great. So let's forget all the sad seller stories and just enjoy the pieces themselves, or just list it all on eBay or consign them if they're not crap and let the chips fall where they may. Can't take it with you so really who cares??

hi members
good morning to all glad to be back in new vyork again for a week then off to my home in pennsylvania glat to be out of the sand box as i call florida . but any way i see this west wall ring being discussed here and same ring is fore sale on whermach forum for 175.00 in my honest opinion it appears that all the silver coating is missing and it shows german nickled silver base but also in my opinion it looks like a good one if the bad guys had a die they would have made it out of cheap metal and i doubt if it would have all the details this ring has the seller just sold a silver skull tagged ring that looked great to me his name is twoodson412 he lives here in the u.s.a. however triggerself still has his junk skull ring for sale 325.00 or best offer now he says or trade for one of your good rings this guy thinks we all just got off of the turnup wagon who knows maybe his outher friend who posts here will chime in again like he did before but any way guys hang in there buy from only dealers that guarentee money back sales please remember nothing is for free or cheap we all pay the price if its period made have a happy easter god bless andy militarynut

Howdy this one looks like it never had silver wash on... were they ever sold like that? As a brass ring?
Or some horde from a factory, before they were finished? It's possible, I guess... and yet, I'd be suspicious.

Silver wash is pretty flimsy. So I'd say it's a good bet this had it, if you look close you can see it in the ridges if yuh have one like this. I have one that looks like this with just a dot of silver on it. But to answer your question, yes I do believe there were other materials or at least colors. Odal will be able to shed a greater light on the subject than me, however. So he may have another example or two to show.

Dear Mike, I was selling dozens of rings in one hit. Every interested in my offer collector could ask more pictures. Was my ring so badly pictured ? I have seen worse pictures even here on bazar. I do not mind because I have sold this ring without problem. Just my thoughts...

By the way all my prices included shipping with tracking number. All who paid with PayPal could pay regular way if added 4% to cover fees.

Not badly pictured, just incomplete by ring collector standards. Front, shanks, rear and reverse, top down. 5 pix should answer all the questions. And yes I know you sold it for your ask.... I would say be happy with that- most guys I know have trouble selling or sell after negotiated price happens. And that's here in America, even- where shipping and cost are excellent. There were a lot of seller qualifications with your pieces that were tough in my opinion- friend PayPal to Eastern Europe plus international shipping. There's risk involved- honestly if I were you I would be very happy about my collection sale- most if not all sold, and you got good money for your sales- and fast! Every one I wanted, for example, had been pre-sold before I even knew you were selling in any case, so I'd say you did really well. Leaving a whole niche collection to be sold when they want for good money is the pipe dream of everyone in militaria collecting, so I really don't understand what's upsetting about Cecil's ww ring sale. I hope everyone gets out on their own terms, with a fistful of cash to show for all the years collecting.

If I were a ghost seller not familiar to anybody without history that would be risky. Too many of You dealed with me to be affraid of. I have sold my rings fast because they were good and really reasonably priced. My motto was take more pay less and it worked really good. I do not care about Cecils rings because they are not mine. I wishYou guys all the best in collecting.

hi gottlieb
your life time ring collection was about every style you could amagine in my opinion you were very fair in your priceing of your rings i did see only a few that i felt was questnable with such a large collection we all have something in our collections just dont make it . maybe was the pictures i usually dont deal with any one i dont know from certain countrys but i spoke to a few of people who knew you very well and they gave me the thumbs up just like any body else that searches me and my reputation out on the net when they buy any of my ss honor rings over the last few years i have been asked to look at outher dealer ss rings and i say to my customers i only am intrested in my rings not any one elses rings so i can not tell you if it is real or not how is his reputation and his guarentee is it as good as mine a few days later we close the deal guess i won the cigar several customers that bought ss honor rings from me were happy i mailed a few to europe free shipping thats a 65.00 fee to me thats good bussiness just like you mailed your rings free from poland to america in my eyes you are a good buissnessman. so i thank you for your honesty and we cant make every body happy in the military bussiness but honesty prevails all ways some people look for the cheaper deals oh well guess we will all ways hear the screams god bless all happy easter andy militarynut

Hi
Piotr, without a doubt a honest guy with good rings.
And i can`t Image there are any problems in dealing with him or buying a ring.

This ring pattern. A brass alloy, die struck and nickel plated. No silver.
A totally loss of the plating is common.
I see no problem in any of this 2 shown rings.

Yes, agree- of course Piotr is honest and a good guy- I've probably mentioned that myself about him as much, if not more than anyone else here on the forum. That isn't the question here. The issue here is "how come person A is selling the same thing I was, for the same price, and it's even of lower quality than mine- except they are getting a lot of interest, whereas mine sat for days." A common gripe amongst sellers, honesty and character have little to do with it. It's sometimes just luck. Other than that, I tried to list some possible factors- and reasons, not to belittle Piotr, honestly I hope you all think better of me than that, but to illustrate to him and all the sellers reading this- what other factors can affect sales. Selling can be frustrating, and often seems unfair. There are things you can do to improve your chances of a quick sale, but even with that- sometimes it's just a matter of chance!

hi mike
yes there is a lot of factors in selling right place righ time prices weather they are priced high or low for over fifty years of selling i often said this why did this man pay cheaper price for a damaged dagger when mine was fifty bucks and no damage i never could get in the minds of why he would do that then when i pointed out to him this is damaged his reply was well it isnt that bad and besides its fifty bucks cheaper nobody wants to hear that they screwed up or was taken also when times are good and people are flush with money you could never do wrong they buy and buy i have seen a lot of changes in our hobby in these fifty years i also noticed a fact every time a picture comes out on germany the price of daggers go up not down just like japanese swords chinese swords are made so good today it ruined the japanese sword market but yet japanese bayonets today are being gobbled up on e ban and sold to china whats with this goings on this is what went on at sos show when you make bundle deals they buy what can i say. the glory days with high prices in the german military are no longer compared to what they brought years ago its just a crazy market i personily believe it will go on so every body hang in there and please i dont have all the answers but it is what it is god bless andy militarynut

Good finish on that ring!, some took very good care of it and hardly wore it,,most are bare!,the finish started coming off the day they were made!
