Cecil see if u can get a top down pic and closer pix of the inside back of skull head and stamp(s)... looks "a little too good" as a nice repro, but let's get some better pix... could be alright- hey even if it isn't, $8 is great! Would make a nice wearer!! (Just remember where u were a week ago with a similar fake (if it even turns out to be one)!) u were almost into the multiple hundreds with a fake - and those guys weren't backing down in the face of the stone cold facts!! Someone ate that crap for hundreds of dollars!!!! Gentlemen, this is why we are here!!! So some closer/better pix... I would hesitate at this point from what I see to call it original but like I said $8 is a bargain for a repop that nice!! Lighting struck 4x this week for u! Congrats!!

Pics are much to small.
I like the price, but not the pattern.
Again this one:

I personally like it as an original, but I am not an expert. I have been studying up though and in hand it seems a lot like my original tagged ring.

If it's the same pattern as ur tagged ring let's see them side by side, just an idea- I'm not so sure we can judge just on these pics as original without a closeup of the inner stamp(s) - and a top-down photo... it does look like a very nice ring, for sure- but casts have been made of these for years, and this was also a very popular mans premium ring pattern here in the USA for many years too...

You know I'm staring at it and I'm just thinking odal nailed it..,great price, not great pattern... I think a very nice wearer, at a bargain (man that's still a win!) but IMHO I don't think that's an original ring.

I just don't see any flaws, but what do I know. It looks so good in person to be a repro to me, and there's no cast marks that I can see. Blvck how do you know of this pattern?

Hello CMT04,
I saw exactly the same ring popped out in North Karelia in dugout few years ago. But unfortunately damaged. Of course this is not good provenance, but this is all what I have at the moment.

CMT04, check PM please

I wander if that is the same ring Odel posted the link to that was claimed to be dug from the same region. It had a repair on it. I know it was debated on another forum with opinions going both ways. I considered buying that ring but Odel did not like it so I chose to wait for another and I found some great tagged rings thanks to the very helpful members here.

I hope this ring is original, but at the price I paid I am very happy either way.

That's the right attitude, Cecil. At $8 you really can't go wrong...
