Polop... u got a picture of this ring? Early rings as I understand had some dates that were different than the (was it 4?) dates only once the award became standardized in 1939. Nov 12 might be a reference to the putsch but these are just guesses, I'd consult don boyles book (and I do not have it handy to check!)

hi, no pics that are any good, supposedly come out of granddads attic, I can get it real cheap. but i'm concerned about the date

A 1935 ring?  Ok community  Lets ask the books about. I myself know 4 standart ones in this theme. Patzwall, Gottlieb, Scapini and, of course, Don. I own this 4 books and i think some others here too. So come on and let`s help. I will start with Craig`s book and will like to see some others help with other books, Thanks!

I wouldn't be so sure to toss it away....if the ring is good it's good, there are many dates, just because the ones that are public dont have the same date, doesn't mean it has a chance

turns out he's got four of these things with the following dates
8-8-42 8-10-42 12-11-35 and 20-08-40. I think that all these dates are bad.
