Well u know my opinion it appears to be a nice original piece, early too. There were lots of designs on these "tank tread" rings- this one really almost looks like a 20s memento Mori, because of the flowers.. regardless I say early prob small sized and very thin and delicate.

I have 3 or 4 tank treads here is the one I have that's closest to this one.

Never seen this band pattern on a skull ring.
But from the whole apearance it looksnot bad to me.
Hollow skull, visible seam behind skull.
I think too mostly a pre war ring and not military
related.

i agree with you this skull ring is not military nice looking but no cigars by me thats for sure these type skulls are all ways very thin silver sheeted including the skull and to me if thats what you want to collect then so be it odel merry christmas happy new year to you family and please feed the dogs andy militarynut

Love the flowers man..unique piece, rare that it still has paint in the eyes...def German made too (note the "800") so I'd say a quality skull, esp w the floral pattern and odal is right these were not nec military could be memento/mourning or a number of things. I'll post some military ones later- have a great cutoff piece taken by a Luxembourgish vet (I already know who wants this one if I ever sell!!)
