This dagger came into a local shop today. I know this is a heavily reproduced pattern so I'm interested in getting opinions on its originality from the experts. Thanks, Len

Thank you Janos! They're asking $500 is this a fair price?

Nice original dagger. I would think $500 is fair, I would think $450 is fairer, but you do not see that many originals in this good condition.

Jim is right, but in this case I would not hesitate too much. Who knows when will you be able to find another real one? Try to bargain, and if it it won't work buy it for 500 USD. Original ones selling more than 500 USD here in Hungary nowadays.
It is up to you. Good luck.

Len Here about 6 months ago I saw some Hungarian Daggers on Ebay, Well I ended up buying four of them. Didn't realize they were probly reproductions, But they were beautiful and Quality made. One was a riverboat capt, one a Surgeons Dagger , a Fireman's, and The one I liked most was a Paratroopers. They were cheaper then German and I thought Looked real Nice. I paid like from 250 to 400 each for them. Then I thought they were not German Daggers so I sold them all and Got my Money Back or a Little more for them . Seems like on ebay the repo's are selling and nobody thinks like they are repo's . They are still doing that. But when I first starting Buying I thought they were original daggers
