I am looking to buy one of these in the $300 range and this one is up for sale. A forum member told me this would be th place to post it. It appears to be a correct pattern, but people think it may show casting signs. What does everyone think?

Thank you, Do you think this one is original or a cast copy?

Cecil - one more point I think you should consider besides the sellers rather dubious reputation at this point is that it doesn't really look like it sat in a swamp for 70 years. It's really bright and near mint. I have difficulty believing this saw action and death in Karelia. Things that come out of the ground there are really affected by that terrain (it's pretty rough on metal things).... just my thoughts.... I could be wrong but I dunno....

Here's a pic of my mint- and still tagged piece. From the same angle that we are looking at...

Also, take a look at sergey's devil head ring from Karelia. It sitting on some dog tags in his pix. That's about what I'd expect for a ring coming from a Karelian swamp.

Well man here's what u know- the sellers a disrespectful arrogant unrepentant fraudster who should be expelled from waf for continuing to rip people off. The guy who sells him the crap also sells the same crap on eBay and gunbroker. You read my comments on waf. Chris thought it was bad, so did Gaspare. I posted the wrong ring foto, sorry - haven't got to posting the other. This trigger guy here thinks it's great. (Read any of Gaspare's "retirement" comments?). Here's what I do when there's this much doubt. I don't buy it. It may be good, possibly. It might be cast. This seller thinks Gaspare doesn't know what he's talking about and that his "ss runic" ring from afrika is authentic. Buy only from old, established REPUTABLE collections as a newbie. And don't listen to the obvious bad guys who have populated our forum like cockroaches. Save ur money, buy another ring. This seller mr I need a coffee or whomever would never take it back if it ended up fake anyway. He's already tripled down on this piece. I really can't advise u any further man, that's the truth! Good luck and happy hunting!

That is basically the same conclusion I have come to. I just found it interesting that someone has the same ring, but regardless I'm going to be patient and wait for something that is unquestionably original, even though I really want one now, it will be better to wait. I didn't realize the guy who sold the seller this ring also sells on gunbroker and eBay. He seems to have a good reputation on warrelics forum, I'm surprised he hasn't been kicked off. No one has said for sure that his rings are bad, some say they are all good, and others think most are questionable. My common sense has told me to wait it out. I find it hard to believe that any digger would find so many rings, it just seems fishy.

Hopefully someone respectful will be have a ring to sell soon and then I can jump on it.

The guy your talking about sells fake German rings on ebay (does not mention they are fake/copy on the ebay listings) , then also lists the same ring on forums as a Copy and actually mentioning it is a copy .

Seen it a few times lately.

Not someone I would deal with .

hi members
appears like we are really sorting out these ring criminals this same skull ring above in the beginning of this post was just sold on waf for 420.00 and mr. ineedcoffee says he will ship it free wow what a plus he sounds like a real sport but hey it is what it is when any militaria is under priced in this market be ware you only get what you pay for if your looking for cheap items. then you will get the whole nine yards up your coolie sad but true gaspare mike mark and many more ring experts has spoken loud n clear and expresed thier honest opinion but it looks like it went on deaf ears i have been selling off my life long collection of german skull rings and outher one of a kind skull rings that are high priced besides ss honor rings i sell all ways with a money back guarentee no questions asked my reputation speaks for itself i dont play games with outher peoples money and my items are not cheap but you can sleep at night knowing your getting the real deal i do make a mistake once in a while but thats why they made pencils with erasors . only one thing i ask is when i send pictures please dont whore them around on the internet till you own the rings once you own them you can show who ever you want. thank you guys merry chrismas happy new year may next year bring a betteryear god bless our military veterans and god bless our great country america andy militarynut
