overall: 38" blade: 31"...double engraved 12" below hilt... scabbard: soft leather (pardon my camera skills)

Lou, Not a military pattern that comes to mind some more photos might help, with the first a better one of the TM to try and get an estimate of the time period. With the crest on the basket seeming to be an animal like a cat with its mouth open? Does the blade have the same thing or is it more of a generic type etch? Best Regards, Fred

If that is a foxhead on the clamshell then it might be Braunschweiger, my hirschfängers from this state have a foxhead theme.

I can't get a pic of the maker mark with my 2 bit camera and lack of talent....Here is the one from the GDC gallery....if I can find the blade pattern I'll send that asap... The engraving is 12 1/2 inches long....with crossed rifles and a sword.... another with crossed cannons a sword and some typre of trumpet like instrument and another with crossed swords.... Thank you
