hallo gentlemen,
I need your help on this cap becuase I can't identify it.
the cap seems to be a correct middle 30 construction one, with fiber visor and all the correct stuff.
the body is a nice vibrant dark green, the band is black velvet (not part of the cap but stitched on it). insignias are a political eagle and a reich's cockade. the officer's cordel is a bright dark green intervowen wires with a silver one.
the cap is marked with "M. DRECHSLER MUETZENFABRIK MUENCHEN DACHAUERSTR. 26" and there are 2 white ink marks on black silover-like liner: "DM. St. 36" and "5/320".
I believe it something concerning forestry or customs, but I need your help.
Thanks in advance to verybody!

Rev Stone, I can tell you it's not Customs because of the eagle and cockade. I have attached a pic of a Customs eagle and wreath, you can see the difference. Hope this helps a little! Regards, Leipzig

Another blue-velvet Forst visor is for sale on Relichunter's site. These are no doubt original, and imho, are for Forst, but most likely maybe one of the many private forestry services pre-1938.

yes, I've seen the relichunter's one...very weird to. but in that case you can recognize a forestry based cap. this one of mine for exemple is without piping and it's dark is more deep and brilliant...
anyway, I will keep it in my collection, but it' sad that I can't give it a name.

it is a low ranking forestry visor cap. there was different grades. the chin cord gives that away. kinda like the dkr and the reichsbahn. if there is specs (color in the chin cord) means lower lever. No specs it is a officer or higher ranking. You have a nice example though. I owned at one time the forestry example in pat moran book on page 116. that is for a officer.

hallo mananero, thanks for your contribute.
I only have some more questions: why, it it's really a foresty cap, the green panel is different than the usual forestry wood-like green? and why the cap band is black velvet instead of the same green? is it concerning the pre-38 regulations?
I knew that forestry ranks was like wehrmacht ranks: leather strap for troops and silver wire cordel for officers...
this cordel of mine is more similar to the one used by customs/drk/ railways...
what do you think about?

Probably a carry over from the weimer republic. The armed forces had the leather strap and the other civil services had the silver bullion like chin cord. Just like the drk the lower ranks had specs in the bullion like chin cords and the officers had a solid stripe bullion like chin cord. I hate to admit it but relic hunter taught me visor caps. But I rather leave it that way.
