Perhaps this is one of Craig's "self authenticated relics".

Just his opinion. to my knowledge no one else believes that artifacts self authenticate themselves.

His rings will always be subject to scrutiny due to his past actions/reputation. He has only himself to blame for this mess.

One of the problems with these Himmler SS Honor Rings are their minute inconsistencies. Everyone I've ever seen appear to be different is some way, shape or form. The engravings are all over the place as far as style and execution goes. I do understand the style changes and manufacturing techniques and different engravers over the years.
Lets not forget that each and every one of these awards were hand made. Not to mention the various wear patterns that would accrue with each ring depending on the situation the ring would find itself in. Heydrich's ring would look different from a ring from an SS recipient from the Eastern front.
I guess this particular award was problematic as far as quality control and a set pattern of standardization/quality control would go.

Yes, and that engraving looks like it was done with a shaky hand. Maybe too much coffee or schnapps!

Your right, that engraving looks forced and not "fluid" as some of the known original pieces display. To me—this would be a red flag/dead give away, indicating something is not quite right here. I've notice that there is a very distinct "r" on Himmler. on most of these authenticated(?) rings.

Yes, looking at mine, it is like one smooth "fluid" cut.
