just wondering since I've only seen one post about this maker...Im new to the forum and daggers...I mostly collect vintage firearms but a buddy of mine is looking to sell off his dad's collection and this is the first piece he asked me about. Its very involved I'm realizing, between condition and maker...early vs late. Not sure how to value these pieces...and I'm not sure how to post pics here but I want to do right by my friend...

In the old McSarr it was classed as a 6 on the rarity scale. On the latest McSarr its a 9.
In my 30 years of collecting I have never seen that maker. Good catch.

The only thing I'd recommend using to clean the Blade would be Simichrome Polish that's made in Germany, you can find it here because it's imported by Competition Chemicals.

Hi, Do not polish the blade because you will take of the origional finish & crossgrain, i recommend you use Renaissance wax, see link.

Since its part of a collection my friend is looking to sell off and since I'm not that knowledgable on values...what would you consider a fair offer to be ? It's a collection he recently inherited so he is a clueless as I am regarding worth ...I will be sharing this post with him ...not looking for a deal ...want to do right by him ...

I'd go out on a limb and appraise it at $650-$800.
I personally think "rarity" is highly over rated and usually not much of a factor in collector to collector sales, unless you run into a SA connoisseur collector who happens not to have it in his collection. So the rarity factor accounts for the high end of my estimate, lower end is probably more realistic.
