UBB.threads Forums Edged Weapons SA & NSKK Dagger Forum Lower Crossguards with wedged blade recess?

So some lower crossguards have a recessed crescent cut-out to fit the blade, some not, so the blade has to shaped to fit the curve, is there any more info to this? Are they limited to early or late production? Or certain makers? SS and SAs?

Nope,No more info.

Some were cast with those recesses and some without. Depth even varied. No predictability at all.
