Went to the San Jose Military Collectors meet at the Naperdak in San Jose. Had not been there for several years. Walked in the door and Ed Anderson was sitting there with a near mint Model 1932 Italian with original gold portepee.

Traded for an SA dagger

Here he is with his new family.

Two of the three portepee are original.

Thanks guys.

Yes Alexander. the Black scabbard and an original box would be nice.

I always love the art deco of the Italian daggers.

Hi Paul.
If your leather hangers are the same as mine on the top right photo, it is simply a different year. In 1939 they switched to the leather hangers. I do not know why.

Hi everybody
Excuse my late answer but it was difficult for me with the preparation of the Cannes Film Festival...
Jim i need some hep for publishing photos so i have send them to the mail address of the blog
Alexandr i think that the box i have send is the corect one from COLTELLERIE RIUNITE DI CASLINO E MANIAGO
They were also in Solingen
The dagger and the box come from the family a former officer of the militia of Lucca Toscana
you will judge with photos
here links about this manufacturer
http://dati.acs.beniculturali.it/oad/uodMarchi/MR020175
http://www.ilsole24ore.com/art/impresa-e...l?uuid=AbfwOkqG
Paul the reason for this change is that the brass had become a strategic material and that the cost was too expensive blowthere have been several variants from different manufacturers , the most famous are
SCUOTTO E TURCO from NAPOLI
NAUTTI from MANAGIO
i try to send you a scan with different models
