Picked this up in the Czech Rep. a few years ago at a antiques shop outside Prague. Handle looks to be bakelite, chipped--maybe army dagger with railway handle(?). Makers marked Paul Weyersberg/Solingen.

Thanks guys

The crossguard looks like an Alcoso high-lift crossguard which would not legitimately be paired with a Weyersberg blade. My suspicion is the dagger is cobbled from parts of different daggers.

Thanks for that--I should mention the crossguard bumps awkwardly up against the upper back scabbard screw, seen in the 3rd photo down. Doesnt quite sheath all the way in. My crossguard definitely looks different than the one in the ID section.

It does appear that the scabbard screw is an oversized replacement. I didn't initially see that on my phone screen.

The detail on the eagle suggests it is a fake. Also, the proportions of the pommel do not look correct ... wrong shape. The trademark is awful ... look at the detail.

As far as the grip, were real railways thoroughly black, as in not painted black on white like this?

The makers mark actually IRL looks really crisp--bad photo of a tiny object.

Thanks all.
