Here is my first in 2016 Very long 25 1/2" , with 19" blade Imperial Fire Official's Dagger, with almost black patina on the fitting. I'm very happy as it's very rare dagger to find. Plus it is a Pack

Ivan,
A very beautiful Feuerwehr Official's dagger, my friend. Although this is the first example I've seen by Pack, it looks to exhibit some excellent detailing & quality throughout & I'm sure you're ecstatic to acquire it.
The fittings appear heavily silvered & almost black which is lovely to see. They appear to be Eickhorn but the etch is something different entirely. I've never seen such an etch on a fire dagger. It's well detailed & although I'm guessing, I'd say it's something unique to Pack. The grip is different too, seeming to show less bulging out in the center like the typical Fire Official's or 1st model Luftwaffe dagger grip. It's almost straight up & down which is an interesting feature.
Would love to nail down exactly when this dagger is from. By the length of the blade, I'd say closer to Imperial than 3R. Since this dagger is marked P(ack) O(hliger) & Co., my question is when did Pack get rid of Ohliger & switch to Ernst Pack & Sohne? Maybe DD Harris or someone else has a Pack Ohliger catalogue?
Really a beautiful looking dagger, congrats my friend.

Just went through my old files & oddly enough, I found a Pack Ohliger example that was sold by the Olde Brigade many years ago. In fact, I actually held this example in my hands close to 15 years ago but had forgotten!
Although it had the same PO & Co. maker mark, it was all WKC/WK&C fittings including pommel, crossguard & blade etch. Actually, from the pictures, Ivan's dagger looks to be better made & with that super etch. We know Pack bought fire bayonet hilts occasionally from other makers. Regarding Ivan's dagger, I think this could be explained by Pack buying parts (if not whole daggers) from multiple competitors.

First Pack of this model that I have ever seen. Love the blade. NICE SCORE IMO.

Great and rare dagger, Ivan.
Always looking for Eickhorns and etched bayonets.
