The first three were great. I remember seeing the first one in a theater in 1977. Who can forget the opening scene with the Rebel Alliance ship being fired at by the Imperial Star Destroyer?
# 4 was poor -, Jar-Jar about ruined the movie. #5 was about robots and # 6 .... well ... I thought it was too contrived and written to justify # 1.
# 7 ? I have high hopes

I'm ready! Hoping it is good. I personally have nothing against the newer 3 though, as they have a huge role in the overall Star Wars story. The only issue I see with the new movie is that it will look "too new" compared to the older ones. Won't match the quality

A friend of mine theorized that the first three were great because Lucas was just starting out and he actually listened to his advisers and got great movies. By the time they made the second three, Lucas was so full of himself he would not take advise from anyone. And we got some pretty boring mechanical movies. So I think 7 is going to be good. Lucas is no longer in charge and most of the original actors are back.

After 38 years I pass the torch onto my worthy apprentice, Re-cey. It would be nice to think that JarJar was indeed Darth JarJar it would make 6 seasons of the clone wars less silly as with 3 other movies. But now onto a more pressing matter the final assault on the Death Star and onto Hoth.

Dave if your a big fan watch Darth Maul Apprentice. Do a youtube search. Best 17 minutes of star wars you will see till episode 8.

I was in England on a DOD contract on one of the NATO bases when the 1st Star Wars came out and did not see it until 1979. I liked the most recent one but their has been some stinkers over the years.
