Hi Gents,
I recently purchased this Yugoslavian army officer dagger (M1939). I did my homework before I bought it, but because I'm new to the wonderful world of dagger collecting I would like to have your opinion on it. Your feedback is highly appreciated.
Thank you in advance
Alex

Original, untouched, and you got it at a great price.
And just in case you are wondering, all that darkening is original from the factory. Do not clean this dagger.

You are correct that they are rare. They come up from time to time and this one is in exceptional original condition. Many people "clean" off the factory browning which seriously reduces its appeal.
I believe he bought this off one of the auctions of a collection that is currently on EBay. If so he got a good deal.
Here is mine with hangers.

Alex, It is always good to see collectors post here. There are a lot of reproductions and fantasy daggers out there so be careful. It always helps to post questions here before you buy..

Nice example Ted. This is a truly underrated dagger. Extremely rare and very historic but not tht much interest.

Underrated indeed. I bet that the designers of this dagger (and hangers!) really loved what they do. I wish I can design and make daggers for a living …
