SS - Streifendie m or n31
With A Swastika. Symbol on part of folding handle hasp
On blade there's a squirl with name around it, Carl Eko horn solingen

Jnas, It came from some criminal that is looking for gullible people who will buy anything with a swastika on it.

Marks answer is absolutely correct. It is a total pies of S and nonsense.

The bottom line here is that if you do not want to hear the truth, don't ask the question.

Here is a link where you can buy this SS "gravity knife" for $15 plus shipping. The knife of the website has the exact same RZM number as the one in the pics you provided. Indeed, these are knifes for people that like a swas and SS runes on a blade...nothing more.

I saw one of these knives along with a fake SS dagger at a VFW museum last week and told the curator whom I knew that this junk needs to go and he agreed. BTW the Eagle on the dagger grip was upside down unbelievable!

Jonas has a point. There is no reason polite conversation can't take place here. Mark's response was unnecessarily rude, reading like what is common on some other websites.

Yes, please let us not chase new GDC members away like this, let's help them in stead.

Jnas,

These SS folding knifes have fooled many of us in our early collecting knifes. They already were around when I started: some 15 years ago! I almost bought one myself at my first fair visit, but got rescued by another ignorant collector buying it just before my nose...

The early ones were made of quite quality material and appeared really old.

But the truth is that these never existed during WW2 period, that is why they are not called copies ,but fantasy pieces.

But don't give up! This is a wonderful hobby!
When you get your first real WW2 period items, you might get the "collecting bug" and it might stay with you for the rest of your life!

Best regards,

Herman

Herman

Well said, Herman.

These folding daggers were exposed as fakes in books at least 35 years ago.

I have been fooled by so many fake dagger and knives in my early collecting years that I even stopped collecting for 5 years.

I started again 10 years ago and I am happy to be back in this great hobby. But now I shop only with serious militaria sellers.

And when the price is too good to be true, you can be 100% sure it is a fake.

It has been awhile since I've seen one, but I think that some of the newer ones are coming from China. Fred

Fred,

Good idea. I have not seen one for many years. If someone has photos, please post them
