Hello I stumbled across a post war Forestry Dagger today which was overall in very nice order apart from some slight rust spotting to the blade. I believe the piece to be post war as it has 'made in Germany' etched in small letters alongside the markers mark which was also etched. My question is are these pieces worth collecting and if so at what price would you expect something like this to command, say based on a similar condition pre 1945 dagger ? i.e. 50% of a pre 1945 piece. The seller wants 450.00 (about $685) is this reasonable ? Thanks Luke

Personally Luke I would pass on anything post war unless it is in new like condition and then only if it is much cheaper than you have stated. If your looking for a decent forestry dagger then you'd best stick with a pre war example similar to this one, if your interested in these things I have a one that is in excellent condition for a decent price.

Luke, I am pretty sure you c an get an original pre WWII cutlass for less than you are talking. I would go with Gary on this.
