H7 was the designation and the template used for Haakon 7, which indicated Norwegians in the resistance and in the armed forces fighting against the Axis forces. H7 items were private purchase and included cap/beret badges, pins, jewelry.
I just received this item from an auction site in Norway.

hi john z wow thats a different ring i wouldnt have known what h 7 meant we learn something new every day norweign resistance wow am i correct in saying this ring is made with aluminum wire simular to the wire west wall rings only difference the west wall was made with zink colored metal wirs compared to your ring still a killer ring . last wednesday here in florida i met a 83 year old norweign man who was slave labor for the germans at that time i believe he said he was a teenager his father worked at the docks he told me that his father refused to take an order from a ss officer and the officer shot /killed him in front of him right then he decided with his friends to sabatage most of his work that the germans told him to do i was very surprized to meet him i first noticed his norweign gold flag around his neck and asked him did he remember the war years then he told me the above story we never know who we will meet tomorrow even though not to many left that wittnessed these days god bless andy militarrynut

That is a very cool ring, John! I never knew much about the Norwegian resistance, and definitely would have passed up a ring like that...thanks for sharing!
