I have a gap between 142592-142616
You have to contact Mike or Ross about this one...

Good luck

Nice piece! Indeed, Ross is the man to go to for SS numbers or you can try the Dienstaltersliste yourself (online or book).

Gruess,

Gerry

Great find! And rare dagger I can’t wait to see if this has research capabilities and I am betting it does. Could have belonged to someone very significant good luck on the hunt for the owner!

Ivan
As far as I am concerned it's not the end of the world if the piece is not in the best condition, it's rarity and the possibility of research far outweighs that in my mind.Nice find.

Hi Ivan,

Even half of the Röhm signature remains intact! That is extremely rare to find!
I must say that it will probably be very difficult to get closer to an authentic full Rohm SS dagger nowadays...

Your dagger appears more authentic then most of the full Rohm SS daggers that have been shown lately.

Best regards,

Herman

Congrats Stingray on your Partial SS Röhm. Sorry to report that SS Mann No. 142 610 is currently unknown.
It has been my experience that numbered SS partial Röhms that are currently identifiable are actually rarer that those ided full Röhms. Perhaps yours will yet be identified, but it is impossible to predict when as the SS numbers I am gathering from the captured German records are totally random.

Enjoy!

did anyone search alternate # combinations due to the overstrike? or does that 1 take it out of the earlier time period

Now it looks even better when I see that Rohm dedication on the blade. I'm sure with a bit of Renwax you can clean the blade a little bit (and protect it for sure).

Lore Vergessen, do you mean that Roman numeral I under the #2? That Roman numeral I is the District mark and represents the District of Munich...it has nothing to do with the SS number that is struck on the crossguard.
You can find these Roman numerals (I, II or III) on early SS daggers; Stingray's dagger is an early dagger as you can see the maker mark (not RZM mark).
