Thank you for the kind words, gentlemen. GDC seems to be the dead zone these days, and has been for a while. . Although we are a founding member and paying dealer sponsor, I think we are done with this site. Ciao,
JR

The biggest problem with posting for most people is the negativity that a lot of posts attract.
Especially with high end items.

John Correct John, negativity is the downfall on all forums these days but we must keep an open mind & not fall for any trolls crap !, people should be allowed to post there item & thoughts/opinions without any ganging up from other members to try to silence the poster, then tempers flare ! Mac 66.

In my humble opinion there are three main problems for forums like this. An old problem, a current problem and a special problem. The old one is that some people cannot stand a SERIOUS negative judgement about one of their items. Some people dont have the experience and the will to lead a serious, experienced and sophisticated discussion. This circumstance often lead/leads to an exodus mainly of experienced collectors. The new one is that the hobby currently tends to settle down on a healthy and lasting price level. This means a certain decline concerning some phantasy prices but -imho- also would contain good chances for the hobby and future collectors. The special reason is that some members dont use the forum as mix (remember the intro: A community for German Dagger enthusiasts to share their hobby with like-minded collectors. Learn, share your knowledge, as well as buy, sell, and trade German daggers) learning, discussion and showing proudly their own collectibles but use the forum only to do business, which might not run overwhelming in the moment.
Just my 2ct.

wotan, gd.c-b#105

I agree with wotan. I used to be a moderator on a professional photographers website where professional portraits could be submitted for critique and if I made a negative comment about someone's photo I would invariably get a "I am an artist not a photographer" comment from the maker.
